Our Recent Achievements
Organic Farming
Avtar Development Foundation is associated with over 25000 farmers in the Hazaribagh district of Jharkhand because of the constant hard-work that the founding Director Mr. Pawan Kumar Gupta has done in this region. The focus of working with the farmers has been to promote sustainable organic farming by distributing the organic inputs to these farmers in the form of seeds, bio-fertilizers, bio-manures, jeevamrit, waster decomposer etc. and also making them aware on how it is pertinent for them to move from the currently chemical intensive to the organic farming in order to sustain the quality of their soil and agricultural yield which is safe to be consumed.
We have already been able to move over 2000 farmers to the third year of certified organic agriculture; hence their agricultural yield can be now marketed as organic products.
Skill Development
An important project implemented by the Avtar Development Foundation is on Skill Development of the urban and rural people who are not that much economically sound. In line to implement this program, a Skill Development Centre has been set up right in the heart of Hazaribagh which caters to Computer Training, Beautician training, Fashion Designing Training. This was targeted at a population that suffers from poor family income and hence by training them in these activities through both practical and theoretical trainings, we were trying to have income enhancement of the targeted beneficiaries. Through this project, we have been able to make an impact in the lives of over 800 people.
Women Empowerment
Another program that is for Women Empowerment in the rural parts of Hazaribagh is by creating a skill pool in their original habitation by creating employment opportunities, hence leading to a sustainable family income of the beneficiaries.
Here we have undertaken trainings like Stitching and Tailoring, Goatree Training and empowering them by making them the stakeholders in the agriculture which is the primary income source of the families targeted.

Go Marginalized & Tribal Women; A Project Supported By SIDBI
Pilot Project of Mushroom Cultivation with 90 marginalized and tribal women supported by SIDBI- We are in the process of implementing a pilot project supported by Small Industries Development Bank of India (SIDBI) awarded to us under Swavlamban Challenge Fund 2021 – Window I where we are promoting oyster mushroom cultivation with 90 marginalized and tribal women of Hazaribagh. Under this project, we would be supporting the beneficiaries right from input to setting up the cultivation unit at their respective homes and finally creating sustainable market linkages. Ultimately, we would be creating an FPO of the 90 beneficiaries and handing over the sustenance of the project by creating stakeholders and leaders from among the beneficiaries. This is important as we would be able to provide clear market linkage to the women beneficiaries for an amount of close to 200 tons of dried up mushroom per quarter. This project would create an estimated income of Rs.7000/- per month per beneficiary post contributing into the input cost for the next cultivation cycle and also contributing Rs.3500/- every month towards contingency fund of the FPO.
